MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Sports

CSCA Taekwondo Club is registered with Uganda Taekwondo Federation. Since the club started, the children have participated in a number of tournaments and made outstanding performances. Major tournaments are shown below: CSCA Junior Taekwondo Team is East African Champion.

  1. 1st - 5th Decemnber, 2011 at Didi'd World - Eleven Children represented the club and got six medals, two Gold, two Silver and two Bronze.
  2. 2nd - 28th April at Greenhill Academy - 10 children represented the club and won six medals, two Gold, two Silver and two Bronze.
  3. 3rd - 13th April 2013, Chairman's Taekwondo Cupo in Kenya (Mbaraki Sports Center, Mombasa) - 5 participated and brought home 4 Medals: 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze.
  4. 4th - 8th June 2013, The Korean Ambassador's Cup at Lugogo MTN Arena - 14 children participated and won 2nd best trophy, 9 medals, 2 Golds, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze.
  5. 30th August 2014, Gulu Open Championships - 5 Children participated and won 3 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal and ! Bronze medal. We also took the best Junior Team Trophy.
  6. 4th - 5th October, 2014, South Korean Ambassador's Cup, Kigali, Rwanda - 2 children from CSCA represented the country winning 1 gold medal and 1 Silver medal along with the team spirit trophy.
  7. 15th November, 2014, South Korean Ambassador's Cup, Kampala, Uganda - 8 Children from CSCA represented the academy winning 4 gold medals, 1 Silver medal and 3 Bronze medals.
  8. 2014, Uganda open TKD Championship  - 16 athletes from CSCA participated in the championship, 8 won gold medals, 6 won silver medals and 2 athletes won bronze medals. CSCA was crowned overall winners of the 2014 Uganda open
  9. 2015 TAEKWONDO KOREAN AMBASSADORS CUP - 8 Athletes from from CSCA participated in two categories, 6 participated in the juniors category , 4 won gold medals , 2 of the junior Athletes won silver, 2 of our athletes participated in the Senior categories and they all won gold in their respective weight divisions
  10.  2015 AMBASSADORS CUP RWANDA KIGALI - 5 athletes from CSCA participated in the tournament, 3 won gold and 2 of our athletes won bronze. CSCA was awarded as the best Team of the tournament and we came home with the best TEAM TROPHY
  11. 2016 KENYA OPEN TKD CHAMPIONSHIP - 4 Athletes from CSCA represented Uganda in Kenya, Ochaka Samuel won a gold medal in the fly weight category, Okwera Royson won gold in the men's banyan weight category, Ocira Oswaldo won gold in the men's fin weight, Lamot Maria Nancy won gold in the female's fly weight category CSCA won the second runner up trophy
  12. 2016 GENOCIDE MEMORIAL MEMORIAL CUP KIGALI RWANDA - 3 csca athletes competed in the tournament. Each won gold in their respective weight categories
  13. RWANDA AMBASSADORS TKD CUP - 2 athletes Oswaldo ocira and okwera Royson took part in this year's ambasadors cup in Kigali and each won gold in their weight division
  14. 2017 PROFESSORS CUP kIBABI KENYA - Ochaka Samuel took part in the championship in kibabi Kenya and won a silver medal
  15. 2017 KOICA OPEN TKD CHAMPIONSHIP, MBALE - 20 csca athletes took part in the first edition of the KOICA open in MBALE eastern Uganda, 10 juniors and 10 seniors, CSCA won the junior trophy, CSCA won the Senior trophy, CSCA won the overall trophy of the first edition of the KOICA open Tkd open in MBALE. Ochaka Samuel from CSCA was named the Most valued player (MVP) of the tournament
  16. 2022 UGANDA OPEN TKD CHAMPIONSHIP - 8 junior athletes from CSCA participated in the tournament, 3 of them won gold, 2 won bronze and 3 won bronze 
  17. 2022 AFRICAN TKD CHAMPIONSHIP - 3 Athletes from CSCA was selected as part of the national team to represent the country in Kigali. Ocira Oswaldo competed in the fin weight category and won a bronze medal. Ochaka Samuel competed in the feather weight category and list in the preliminaries. Wakurwoth Cranma competed in the bantam weight category and lost in the preliminaries. Uganda was ranked 12th in Africa after the championship 

KEY MILESTONES

  • In 2016, with the help of the Germany Embassy we built a multipurpose hall in Kireka Slum School. This facility provides usage to 700 students of the school during school hours while CSCA utilities it after school hours and during weekends.
  • In November 2017 CSCA hosted and helped to organise event for the Polish Embassy delegate during the 75th Anniversary of Polish Refugges arrival into Uganda. Over a 100 children and youth was involved in welcoming the Polish delegation and prepared sport demonstrations , self defence drills, as well as cooked and served the meal for all participant of the event.
  • In March 2018 CSCA youth helped in the organisation of the Polish Embassy sponsored Documentary promotion titled: Hiding and Seeking, held at Kampala Cineplex. Our youth were in charge of promotion of the documentary, distribution of posters, setup of Facebook event notification, and provided the catering service during the event. 60 CSCA youth members attended the screening , an experience that further helped in building their confidence and giving them a much needed exposure and interaction with other social groups.
  • CSCA LIFE SKILL CENTER started with the help of Polish Embassy, has been successfully providing various activities as listed above since 1st August 2018
  • In 2019, CSCA partnered with TME and expanded on vocational training activities (Computer, Embedded systems, Mobile Phone repair and Electrical Installation).
  • In 2020, CSCA held their very first graduation ceremony where over 100 students received their certificates.
